A DOS game was developed by Spectrum Holobyte, Inc. and then released by Spectrum Holobyte in 1984, the game was called GATO. Now you can relive the memories by playing it online here.
GATO description
The first “serious” submarine simulator that appeared on the PC. Rather limited CGA graphics, only five types of enemies and twenty missions for their destruction, occurring within the Pacific ocean, not too impressive. But fans of submarine simulators must have this game in their collection as the first representative of this genre.
