- developed a DOS game in the year 1986 called Link Four. In the video game ranking, this game ruled the charts for a very long time. You can now play it again online by clicking here.
Link Four description
Since the advent of the computer puzzles as such, savvy developers are not shy to cross other people's creations and to position it as their own original ideas. And I must say that they often get really interesting projects. Link Four is similar to one of these.
It is based on two pillars – Tetris and TIC-TAC-toe - which, it turns out, can be combined. The playing field has a size of six to seven cells. Fall from the top of the circles alternately yellow and red colors. Two players, one (or even two) of which can be a computer or a person, have them in such a way as to create a chain of four links horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Who can do it first is the winner.
As you can see, the idea was easy to implement; although to recommend it to fans of Tetris or the game of TIC - TAC-toe it would hardly be reasonable, but lovers of unusual passing through is not worth it.
P. S. And please look on the year of release of the game: this is one of the first variations of falling blocks in principle.
Have you ever wondered what kind of video games were played in the good old days? Try playing Link Four online now and we are sure you will not stop playing again.
