Comanche: Maximum Overkill is the first helicopter simulator to showcase NovaLogic’s Voxel engine, which renders organic and lifelike terrain and realistic looking objects that no other game using polygons could match. The game features a simple flight model and allows the player’s helicopter to take much more damage than it could in reality. Additionally, weapons on the Comanche feature deadly accuracy and power.
There are over 20 scripted campaign missions, similar to all other NovaLogic simulations.
The game consisted of many different missions of varying difficulty levels. Players are tasked to pilot a RAH-66 Comanche helicopter through war zones destroying enemy tanks, SAMs, Helicopters, and buildings with a variety of weapons.
The armament in game consisted of a 20mm Cannon, Hellfire Anti-tank guided missiles, Stinger Air to Air missiles, and unguided rockets. The quantities of the weapons varied from mission to mission.
