A Sports game, Euro Soccer was released in 1992 by the famous developed Flair Software Ltd.. It is a DOS game and is perfect for all video game lovers.
Quite a rare football game that has not received publicity, most likely, due to some unfortunate characteristics of their gameplay.
The game is not focused on the European Championship and, apparently, the UEFA Cup, as for choice there are several dozen teams from England, Scotland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden. It is worth noting that all the teams and their compositions are quite real (structures – it is clear, at the time of release) and sometimes differ greatly in their power and playing style.
The game has two modes – "arcade" (which is so called shareware), and "championship". The first is a traditional single subgenre friendlies, but is designed exclusively for two players on one computer, and one of them must play with the joystick. The main mode is the championship, but it by selecting any available team that can only play one. Before the match, you can choose a tactical scheme of the game, the weather conditions during a match (wet or dry grass on the pitch), its duration (from two to eight minutes of real time), and even "fun" option or not to play national anthems of countries.
You can operate only the player who is at this point in time closest to the ball way very little (in fact – only a pass or cross, and transmission are almost always not quite sure). The ball control is quite "dense", but the game camera is not always have time to follow the movement of the ball, so sometimes neither he nor the "active" player on the screen never seen, and this moment is one of the most frustrating in the game. Also not to mention the fact that, unfortunately, there is no way to save the game (after the match), so the championship will have to pass at a time from beginning to end.
From a graphical standpoint the game looks good, especially in VGA mode: isometric view, those players are not visible, but they are drawn relatively large and clear, and their movements are animated nicely. If it were not at least two of the above – mentioned shortcomings- she might even qualify for a very high rating. Nevertheless, in its real form Euro Soccer may be of interest to fans old and forgotten football computer battles.
