Do you want to relive your good old memories? Play Day of the Pharaoh again, it’s a perfect DOS game launched in 1989 and a must-play for all video game lovers.
Strategy in which you have to feel the burden of the Pharaoh – ruler of Ancient Egypt.
However, it is rather a multi-genre game, and this feature catches the eye immediately. Because we begin not as Pharaoh but as the son of the deceased ruler, which cunning priests expelled from the country, and our task is to try to somehow regain the throne. But even if it succeeds, we will always have to support in any way favorable attitude of the population – first of all, protection from enemies from the deserts and the expansion of the territory of the Kingdom.
The creators of Pharaoh and Heath 1999, probably inspired by the game. For example, there are gods (as real entities), among which you can choose a patron. You can (and should) marry – then there will be a guarantee that if your character will die from the disease or will die in the battle, then your family will still be on the throne. But, of course, for the most part this game is still a strategy, so you'll have to build cities and fight with neighbors. Types of buildings for construction abound, but resources are at first very small, and the only way to get them is to conquer the land where they are (trade is not in the game).
Part in the battle is a separate mini-game – arcade game (like Gladiator fights and chariot races in Centurion'e): you control a car and shoot at enemies from a bow, they try to hit you with spears. This mode can happen is something called "help patron God": some of the enemies (or even all) will be destroyed instantly but even to ask about it does not – it always is extremely random.
Centurion, by the way, was mentioned for a reason – this game will surely enjoy his fans, though, is much more simplistic-it option (is there more micromanagement and almost no truly global battles). The graphics are beautiful, especially in battle mode. Overall – a fairly simple game in unusual and attractive surroundings, it is worthy of attention, albeit fairly repetitive, but addictive.
