A very interesting DOS game was released by Wizard Systems Software in the year 1992. The game was called Ariva. You can now play it online.

Ariva description

A rather unusual logical game variation Python. The playing field is filled with rectangles of red, Python starts exactly in the middle from below the goal - to reach the white box in the center top of the screen. The difficulty lies in the fact that snake can only set the direction, and then it moves itself, until they encounter an obstacle. With each new level, reduced the time allotted to the passage, increasing the length of a boa constrictor, and there are rectangles of other colors, the collision of which leads to different consequences. Green - leads to new rectangles, blue - increases the time limit, grey - resulting in an instantaneous loss, purple boa teleports to a random area, blue - reduces movement speed, brown - leads to the redrawing of the level.

The graphics are primitive: the boa - just a white line, the obstacle is as simple colored rectangles. The result was easy to learn, but quite challenging puzzle game.

Enjoy playing Ariva online, it can be played on your browser and is free.
