Do you think old video games are boring? Play J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, Vol. I, it is a Top-down perspective game developed by Electronic Arts Ltd. and released on DOS in 1990. You will then know that you were wrong.

J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, Vol. I description

The first and last to PC full-fledged RPG based on the books of Professor Tolkien.

So, over the Earth the clouds are gathering, Saruman the White, weaving their intrigues, Gandalf the Grey holds its machinations around the one Ring, in the meantime, three of the hobbits leave the Shire for his native almost pointless at first glance, the journey to the East, to Rivendell...

To retell the plot of the book is useless, especially because the game is very at ease it relates to. All you should know, you in a condensed form according to the Intro diskette-based version (and very common - the video cartoon of the same name (!) 70s in the CD version), and the rest on the road.

The game begins since the release of Frodo and Co. from his home and collecting the keys from him Lobelia Sackville-Baggins... And ends about the same place where a book - the collapse of the Commonwealth of the Ring. However, don't expect that the book can be used as a solution - it only gives you General instructions. It is a realistic option is meeting with the Nazgul forehead-to-forehead in inappropriate places Professor (and an inglorious death before meeting Aragorn we are too weak against them, and after it, they alone do not go), or a thorough study of all corners around the Shire (and here and there grave of the ancient King, where it is possible to profit not bad... but you can get a side questic over there to save the girl from the wolves...) - although there exist a real change of day and night, us time is drastically running out.

The RAID "free interpretation" changes the appearance of the plot, making it suitable for use inside non-Tolkienisty, but Tolkienists are about equally divided on those who think these innovations are relevant and useful, and those who believe the opportunity to try to squeal to anyone on the tinsel wild heresy.

In any case, it's not a bad game considering some of the paucity of source material on the subject of freedom of action and the use of the approach "here's a huge map and instructions to go from point a to point B in any way, and then make Cho want." Fans of the source material and fans dosed freemen definitely worth a look, the rest is strictly optional.

Now, play J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings, Vol. I online for free on your browser and make your boring weekend fun and full of entertainment.
