Mick description
Dark lords, evil wizards and other minions are not the brightest forces absolutely do not want to learn from the mistakes of their colleagues and continue to count children the most innocent and helpless creatures in the world. And it was the same and Masha and Vitya, projivshii vocal-instrumental ensemble “Wild guitar”, and razveyatsya the power of the Snow Queen Gerda, and Hansel with Gretel, who managed to outwit the wicked witch. But where there is a full a feeling of grandeur the magical ladies! So the lady of the dark castle – the main negative character in the game Mick is no exception to this rule. Grim stone structure in which she lives, surrounded by gorgeous green forest with many spacious glades, slender trees and flowers of wondrous beauty. The witch selfishly believes that the forest belongs only to her, and severely punish any caught in its territory of living beings, imposing on them the reverse spell. This sad fate befell two friends: the girl Masha, and Mika the boy who decided to play ball on the edge of a wonderful forest. Sincerely indignant such arrogance, the wicked witch in the blink of an eye drew Mary in a tree, and Mika – in a ladybug... Well, except maybe some little boy being transformed into an insect and trapped in a basement part of the castle, to present any kind of threat to the deceit and power of a professional witch? Even as he can – because he is not afraid of danger, do not throw friends in trouble, and he has a very kind heart!
Castle wily sorceress, anywhere MIK, represents an intricate network of rooms, corridors and stairs, so to get out of it not under force even to skilled Ranger with a superb sense of area. What to say about the harmless ladybug... But the boy was lucky showing undue negligence (which tend to be a powerful person), the lady of the enchanted castle left in the basement of the magic talisman that gives its possessor the ability to transform into a human. Having regained his former appearance, Mick goes to explore the place of her confinement in search of an exit. He will have to overcome many difficult hurdles and obstacles, but with proper care he will be able to find in various corners of the gloomy abode or magic potions. It is through these potions the witch turns trapped in the forest animals into horrible monsters and puts them in cages. The sight of the vicious creatures could strike fear into any who would face them face to face, but appearances are deceiving: each of the monsters is just a regular animal that does not want to hurt anyone, and only craves freedom. Mixing the contents of bottles found, Mick can break the spell of the beasts and set them free. For bravery and kindness to animals will help the boy to get out of the castle! Each of the prisoners will give the boy his magical talisman, enabling its owner to transform into the appropriate animal. The young Savior will be useful all the unique skills that will give him his new friends: a brisk mouse-norushka easily fit in even the smallest of moves; the frisky squirrel one can jump to overcome the whole of the abyss; the frog-wah can swim under water; the image of a tiger scares away any evil spirits guarding the dark stone corridors, and the bird can soar to unbelievable heights. Don't forget about the unique abilities of the Mika - only he can climb the numerous stairs that connect the floors of the castle.
All of these skills, it should be noted, are here not for show, as the proper use of various forms tied many in-game puzzles. Every ability opens up new possibilities for the passage: places that previously seemed unreachable become reachable, and the problems presented by the hitherto impossible, can be solved in a few moments. And the more Mick will move through the gloomy castle, the more he will have to reincarnate. During the passage clarifies and basic gameplay priorities: instead of dashing jumping over the heads of many of the villains – well-planned actions to overcome specific barriers, instead of scattering a symbolic bonus – rare vials of magical potions that are vital for further progress. In other words, despite the fact that Mick focused on children's audience, the dynamics here humbly gives way to unobtrusive thoughtfulness, which sometimes is lacking in many games of the arcade genre.
To create the necessary dreamlike atmosphere contributes to graphic design. The game looks nice and stylish, the artist managed to successfully convey a classic fairy-tale contrast: dark and terrible inhabitants of the castle, always watching Mick from the dark corners, beautifully shaded bright and cute animal helpers. The scenery, though, and can not boast of a special variety, look well hanging from the ceilings of century-old cobwebs, the remnants of the fallen heroes, crowned by the epic swords-kladentsi, majestic columns and slowly dying in fishnet chandeliers candles in the entire game and not find two identical copied of the locations. But what really lacks here is the appropriate musical accompaniment – the music is only during the story cut-scenes. Not that deathly silence somehow distract from the game, but a quality soundtrack would perfectly complement what's on screen.
Mick, no doubt is very specific, a little reminiscent of the classic platform arcade from the West: an unusually measured pace, visual modesty, tense soundlessness... this approach, however, is not surprising, because it is a product of the domestic game industry the beginning of the nineties, made by one single person. And gameplay mechanics, and visual style, clear traces of a modest budget, but original and handmade games. And let Mick can not boast of any visual gloss or outstanding scale or complex storyline, but, to tell you the truth, the other so emotional and dear to the heart of the children's arcade is simply not to find.
