Developed by Cosmi Corporation in 1989, War Eagles is a perfect Action game which ruled the arcade for several years. You can now play it online here.
Good "retravailler", dedicated to the air battles of the First world war. The game includes two campaigns (mission not linked) – for English and German pilot, both are available for transmission from the beginning of the game.
Game for the English pilot includes five missions: patrol, escort, attack on the airship (protected), duel with the German ACE and the most difficult of all, the "Nest of hornets", when you have to fight one at once with a squadron (!) enemy planes. German missions in General similar, however, the attack on the airship is replaced by the mission for its protection. No "career" in the game there – just rambling tasks.
Graphically, the game looks good for the simulator (but only in EGA mode), the dynamics of the fighting is present (though here it can be seen as a drawback, because the aircraft of the last century so fly obviously could not). Mission "the Hornet's Nest" is a phenomenal complexity (it is said that not many people were able to defeat her), so tune in to it immediately. Verdict – not a hit, but firmly made and nice looking simulator, definitely of interest to fans of the genre.
