Simulator cruiser as an example of a typical average old game, moreover – it can be attributed to the category of significantly below average. That means the serial number "6" in its name – hard to say; perhaps on some kind of platform was a series of similar games, but for PC known only this one.
The game is dedicated to "hot" for the time of its release – the war in the Persian Gulf. In it we have to manage separately taken American cruiser, in front of which can be set three tasks: escorting convoy ships, patrol a certain sector of the Bay and a direct attack on the enemy. That is no campaign here – just (just just) three missions that never change. To put it mildly – not very "densely".
The game is in first person, but is available different plans – for example, from the navigating bridge or from the engine room (of course, depending on the situation it is necessary to choose different). In the mission escort our task is just to swim next to a convoy of tankers and protect him while on patrol will have to track down enemies, but when a direct attack is to go in a specific course for contraction. Enemies in the game very much, they are represented by other ships, boats and aircraft; there are also submarines, and mines (which help to detect the radar, and they warn you in advance about the appearance of enemy vehicles). It's interesting that here, as in some arcade shooters, you can find a "friendly" court to shoot for which in any case impossible.
Graphics, especially considering the genre, the game is good, and it can even be called good. Let the picture and "minimalistic", but the dashboard is made very well. But this does not help – unfortunately, we have to admit that playing is not very interesting. Bad Navcom 6 to name any means impossible – but she (and this is the main drawback) just criminally short, there's not a single part (besides the ban on "friendly fire"), which would distinguish it from other simulators warships of the time, each of which is much better, more difficult, more interesting and more detailed her on all counts. So this thing is just a collector of all sorts of rarities, or the "hardened wargamers", which thoroughly examined all other simulators of its kind, and willing to play anything similar (albeit that the game will probably seem quite child).
