No Greater Glory description
Turn-based strategy dedicated to the civil war in the United States in the years 1861-1865.
The plot, as usual in historical games, not worth telling: the causes and course of this war are in high school. You can choose any of the parties to the conflict – a Federation or Confederation, respectively, take the role of either Lincoln or Davis.
This strategy is NOT a wargame. Or, more precisely, "an advanced simplified wargame". "Simplified" - because of the complexity in all senses incomparable (details of battles, too). Advanced – because it will have, in addition to the troops, and to manage all other aspects of life in their state (and in this game – that the head of state, commander in chief in particular). In your hands and the economy, and politics (for example, completely independently form the Cabinet of Ministers and then at any time to change it), and, of course, lead the "General staff". It should be noted that here in your power not only to somehow command the battle, but also to appoint (and dismiss) the generals, and also to consult with them (the process of preparing the battle, evaluation of the forces and position of the enemy, the attempt of forecasting based on available data, it strategy and the development of countermeasures are recreated as realistic as possible, believe me, and to do it extremely exciting). But, as already mentioned, the war, though the main but not the only important and very simple lesson in this game.
As for historical battles, then they are recreated with relative accuracy (in different planes), in the course of the game will feature all the major battles. For the Federation to keep it simple, but change the story – in your power. Graphics are better not to touch – Yes, it's another "SIM card" not very often animated inserts, but if you don't like such games then you can not do nothing -- they are not others.
Verdict – not a masterpiece, but very good and largely intuitive and not particularly tedious strategy that could deliver a fan of historical battles on the screen a lot of pleasant moments.
